02The problem
Legacy tools are built for big firms. Small teams juggle files — and chase standards across every live project.
Versions, folders and emails instead of one place to write and reuse.
When a standard changes, you have to find and fix it across every live project.
Annual seats that are hard to justify when work fluctuates.
03The platform
Create and manage CAWS specifications in one place. Oruma updates clauses centrally so a small practice can offload that work.
Build around CAWS instead of a blank document.
Adapt clauses for the project. Keep the office approach.
Turn office knowledge into templates you reuse, not rebuild.
Oruma keeps track of clause and standards updates so the practice does not have to.
Specification writing for small practices — not an enterprise system.
Issue a spec that keeps your practice branding.
04Pricing
The organisation pays £15 / month to stay on the platform. Working on a live specification uses a £195 project credit. Quiet months stay cheap; busy months follow the work.
Organisation fee
£15/ month
Fixed fee for the organisation. 5 seats included. Does not include project work.
Project credit
£195/ project
Spend a project credit when the organisation starts a live specification.
Compare with your NBS quote
Chorus will not tell you the price until they quote you. Put in what they asked — or leave our estimate and change the seats.
Your NBS figure
£2,500
Scales with seats. Edit the figure if your Chorus quote is different.
Oruma for that year
£375
£15 / month for 5 seats (£180 / year) + £195 in project credits
Oruma is £2,125 less — about 15% of your Chorus figure.
Fee proposal tip: include Oruma within your project-specific software / specification production allowance when agreeing your architectural fee. Because the main cost is linked to a specific project, it can sit in the fee proposal rather than as a general annual overhead.
05Refer a practice
Oruma is being built for a close-knit community of small architectural practices. Introduce three other studios and your project charges are covered for a full year.
